Dotty and I will celebrate our 4th year at the Oceanside Days of Art.  We both have some beautiful new paintings and will be there both days to discuss art and prints.

If you are interested in learning more about the art of being a professional or semi-professional artist I suggest joining your local art guild.  Dotty and I have been members of the San Dieguito Art Guild for a few years now.  It has been an excellent resource, support, inspiration and motivation.

Every month volunteer artists orchestrate numerous events designed to infuse art into our local community and to provide outlets for emerging and veteran artists to display art and interact with fellow artists.   check out their upcoming Mothers Day Tour in May 7th and 8th.

Check out our new art and kick off the holidays with a fun evening at the Cedros design district in Solana Beach, California this Thursday.     There will be music, street performers and holiday cheer.   Check out all the great gifts at Leaping Lotus and look for Dotty and I,.  We will be upstairs at the top of the marble staircase and are available to answer questions about our artwork and gift items on display.

Dotty’s horse and race track original watercolors are on exhibit at the St. Tropez Bakery in Encinitas, California for the month of August.  She has been chosen as their featured Artist of the Month to coincide with the Race Season at the Del Mar Race Track.     Stop by the bakery and check her art out.  We have included a print of her most recent acrylic on canvas “Race Day cir. 1937″.  They are located at 947 S. Here is a new wave I painted.  It measures 4 feet high and 3 feet wide.

This is my newest painting for my horse racing series based on  vintage photographs my father took back in the 1930′s.  This particular painting is  very special because it is the debut of my using acrylic paints on canvas.  I had so much fun adding the textures and capturing the jockey’s as they race toward the finish line.   This painting measures 36 inches high by 48 inches wide and with 1 inch finished edges.  It will be on display and for sale at Leaping Lotus, in Solana Beach, California for the next month.    You can also view it on our website at www.Artdivas.net.
